Oleg Chukhontsev was born in Russia in 1938. His early books remained unpublished or were heavily censored until 1989. Since then, Chukhontsev has garnered the most distinguished accolades of Russian poetry.
Danielle Jones is a Fulbright Scholar in Perm, Russia, where she is working on a book-length translation of Oleg Chukhontsev's poetry.
