Ode to My Stretchmarks

of each
mark
!100! !50!what stretches
!100! !50!me
lovely
in no light
!100! !50!serpentine
!100! !50!age
I present
the utterly
!100! !50!unamazing
!100! !50!each incomplete
intimacy
of no knight
!100! !50!in shining this
!100! !50!soft armor
of a cheered age
pleading guilty
!100! !50!again
!100! !50!& over a good
time there is
just the bathwater
!100! !50!no baby
!100! !50!shed afterparties
aftermath of so much
deciduous skin
!100! !50!on skin
!100! !50!what blows
the shingles off
these sunspotted shoulders
!100! !50!one long night
!100! !50!until this weight
will be overturned
a fossil
!100! !50!excavated by some
!100! !50!tiny deity
who whispers
heads I win
!100! !50!tails you lose
!100! !50!and here I am
still rolling
fucking dice
